This is the process for this week.
1. Ivan practice finger exercise everyday. He will start to practice Hand exercise Hanon 1 step by step.
2. We focus on Hot Cross Buns and Jingle Bell
3. We picked pieces from Sign-Reading with 3 or 4 to sing the note. Sometimes I played and he sang or he played I sang.
4. We listened video or I played notes for ear training.

This is the process for this week.
1. We practice finger exercise and Hand exercise Hanon 1 with right hand everyday. We start Hand exercise Hanon 1 with left hand this week.
2. He started to practice Hot Cross Buns with teaching video. But he always repeats same mistakes as he played piano instinctively. ie. After his left hand played Do-So, Fa-So,Do-So, he will play Fa-So with next note (Mi) on right hand while it should be Do-So. Also, the tempo is incorrect when playing some bars.
So I need to remind him about this mistake and practice beat.
3. Another interesting thing is he tried to apply Left hand pattern from Hot Cross Buns to other songs occasionally. Do we play Hot Cross Buns too much?
We will keep practicing..

Here is the process of last week.
1. The rhythm of playing Hot Cross Buns is more stable after I sang with him and follow with teaching video. He also made less same mistakes after reminder. This gave me a lesson. I need to remind him to avoid some mistakes he repeated every practice in case it becomes "habit".
2. We did ear training by singing the notes of pieces. He sometimes hide and listen to my play and sang with my play.
3. We played Hand exercise Hanon 1 with right/left hand at backward this week. Once he is familiar one hand forward and backward , we will play both hands.
4. He sometimes asked to practice new song (I used it as sign-reading). We accident pick Tchaikovsky ‘Nutcracker’ – March. This is first time he challenged different octave, played three fingers together and stretched fingers maximum to play 2 keys. It was interesting to see he keeps asking himself "Is it possible for me to do it?".

I have some questions:
1. I can't find the song ‘Carol of the Bells’ mentioned in Teaching Plan. Where is it?
2. When I first introduced flash card to my son, I taught him alphabet because I thought it will be easy for him. But I found he was confused because he is learning letter sound for reading at school. So when he heard "Do", he picked letter D (Re). He automatically transfer Do's first sound as D like what he is doing for reading practice. So I ignored alphabet system and used Solfeggio. This is more nature for him to quick into piano sound and avoid confusing.
Right now, we are practicing Gentle Piano based on Solfeggio. Will we need to know alphabet system letter later? or we can totally skip alphabet system as long as we know note position?

Hello, Sharry!
I watched the videos and noticed a very good progress in your son's fingers' awareness and both hands coordination in making (French Song)

Please, find the SONGS AROUND THE GLOBE

Good for you! A child learning faster with Solfeggio, because he relies on the echoic memory en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Echoic_memory and from his very first steps learning languages this way.

Right now, we are practicing Gentle Piano based on Solfeggio. Will we need to know alphabet system letter later? or we can totally skip alphabet system as long as we know note position?

You will be surprised: he is going to know both system. He will learns letters naturally, but for now he needs Solfeggio

Thank you Hellene for the answers.
I think the finger exercises we do everyday automatically applied to music playing.
I am happy to see he uses all fingers to play a song.
I compared his first video of playing French Song with current and he really improved a lot in finger and hands coordination.
We will keep practicing the activities in teaching plan.

Questions:
1. When I looked at other parents post, they sometimes show pictures of working on Solfeggio note by magnet. Do they get Solfeggio magnet in this website?

2. How do they get certificate?

Thanks
