Hello MyYangky,
Let me help you with understanding your scores and numbers:

MyYangky wrote: Hi everyone,

Here are the updates for the 3rd-4th week of Segment 1 (October):

Nio - Level A

Week 3:
He just played GKG 3x that week with scores :30=7; :30=10; :30=8 but he sings it, like when I or his sister are playing the GKG sometimes he sings the notes while he' s playing somewhere else in the living room.

Good news! He started moving towards voice - perfect pitch development.

He points to the notecards while singing the "do-do" song forward and backward. He also sings solfege of Surprise Symphony when I play it to him.

Excellent! Did you have a hance to show him a video about Music and Noise?

Week 4:
Did GKG just a couple of times with scores :30= 6 & :30=7 he doesn't want to sit still and play at times I just guide his finger to which note is played. Then he' s back to standing up or sliding down on the chair.

It is perfectly normal. The GK Module is not a 'game' - rather a training tool for music development AND attention span. If he makes sometimes up to 10 points in 30 seconds it is very good for start!

Andrea - Level C

Week 3:

"Surprise Symphony"
R1= 41/44 17; L1= 21/23 19; P1= 65/67 28
P2= 63/67 23
P2= 65/67 23
P2= 64/67 21
P2= 64/67 26

This homework is for developing also music appreciation skills and theory. Did you have a chance to watch the 'Music and Noise' video? Did you listen to the original performance of the Symphony?

"Mulberry Bush"
R1= 23/23 4; L1= 12/13 7; P1= 34/36 13
P2= 35/36 11
P2= 33/36 16
P2= 35/36 15

Great numbers. Is she sing the Solfeggio?

"Hot Cross Buns"
P1= 37/37 1
P2= 37/37 4
P2= 37/37 3
P2= 37/37 7
P2= 35/37 2

Way too easy for her. Please, practice French Song, Jingle Bells and Ode to Joy. I think, soon enough we will move on to the First Level (for piano development)

GKG =231 2:00
267 2:00
215 2:00

Excellent!

Week 4:

"Surprise Symphony"
P2= 64/67 23
P2= 66/67 21
P2= 67/67 21
P2= 67/67 18
P2= 67/67 12
"Mulberry Bush"
P2= 35/36 12
P2= 32/36 13
P2= 34/36 12
P2= 36/36 12
P2= 35/36 13
"Hot Cross Buns"
P2= 37/37 6
P2= 37/37 4
P2= 37/37 3
P2= 37/37 3
"French Song"
R1= 26/28 13; L1= 20/20 2; P1= 47/48 7
R1= 26/28 8 ; L1= 19/20 2; P1= 48/48 6
R1= 27/28 8 ; L1= 19/20 2; P1= 48/48 7
R1= 28/28 7 ; L1= 20/20 2; P1= 48/48 6
R1= 28/28 3 ; L1= 20/20 4; P1= 47/48 5
"Jingle Bells"
R1= 42/45 9 ; L1= 28/32?23; P1= 64/77 27
R1= 41/45 11; L1= 31/32 13; P1= 69/77 28
R1= 42/45 11; L1= 32/32 10; P1= 68/77 20
R1= 45/45 5; L1= 31/32 8; P1= 77/77 19
R1= 43/45 9; L1= 32/32 7; P1= 75/77 12

Time to move on to memorizing piano pieces. Please, ask her to play on RH, LH and PH.

GKG= 240 2:00
210 2:00
333 2:00
239 2:00
350 2:00
I'm still a bit confused here on the GKG, obviously the low right hand corner score is not the actual 2 mins., coz its much longer than that.

Yes, this is her time in delays. The better she plays - the more points she gets in less 'game time'

So is it ok now we're starting on Segment 2, I put a timer set to 3 mins. Then when it goes off I just record whatever the score is on the lower right corner. The 2:00 timing on the low right hand is too long for my daughter.

Please, adjust. Go back to 1. No rush!

Hello everyone, sorry this progress report is so long overdue. She occasionally does the Hanon#1 and the 5 finger exercises.

Segment 3 (December - January)
I don't know how to program or stop at 8 bars, so I just let her play until she reached the score of 100 on R1. She was really excited to do March since they had a Christmas Nutcracker Show on her rhythmic gymnastics class for the holidays.
Tom Tom the Piper's Son:

Segment 4 (March)
1st Wk:
Mary had a Little Lamb:
R1: 52/53 14

Note Duration Game (5mins): 91 57, 85 35, 79 45, 167 55, 194 58 Level 6

For Nio he is just so hyperactive, couldn't sit for 3mins on the piano. We are still on Segment 2. He does the note alphabet chant, he sings this while playing with the solfege magnets ascending do to do and descending do to do on the staff. I also made him foam puzzles of the solfege and the symbols so he arranges it in order and then matches the corresponding symbol and also with flashcards. We are currently practicing re to re for now.

Will upload videos and pix of them soon.

Very good job. Next step would be to play with a metronome

Chromatic Scale

Please, always finish on the same note. If started from Do, finish on Do as well.

The pieces are way too easy for Andrea. I think, she is ready for Boogie 1. Indian Boogie, Country girl, Happy Cowboy.

Andrea has good coordination and rhythm. Boogie pieces will be just right for a challenge.
