Jake seems to be picking up a couple things that we have learned. We are definitely not able to keep up with the weekly classes..it feels like we have been stuck at week #2-3 for sometime now. He gets frustrated when I try to play piano for myself, which has become quite fun, and if I try to invoke him into my playing he visably looks upset. So, everyday I start fresh and see if he will try to play but my efforts are usually to my dismay. Today, I was able to use kisses in return for notes played ❤️

It seems to me that visual limitation (covering the rest of the keys) works better for Jake.
However, the pictures on the piano keys are too small for his age. Had you been trying the game with cards more often?
Please, don't worry about how fast you are moving forward. Our goal is to create environment and watch the seeds sprout.
You as a mom is getting educated and know, what can be next. It is enough to secure Jake's progress.
Did you try 'music money' with Jake for rewards? They will help us to delay 'instant gratification': you will add more and more 'flags' or 'butterflies' for every right move. After that together you will count them one by one and he will 'buy' a cracker for himself. Let me know!
I think, for now our goal is to awake his initiatives to do something. Any gesture like this should be appreciated (but not over appreciated). If we will be too excited about it, he will think that YOU wants it and it will affect his desire to work.
