Kristos 4 Years Old

Hannon -- We are working hands separately right now and he is still struggling a bit and is not quite ready for hands together. In the RH he keeps going up to finger 4 and back and in the LH he keeps going up to finger 2 and back -- I keep emphasizing the importance of using all the fingers, but it's not there yet.

Solfege -- Still working on Do, Ti, La, etc. Do, Re, Mi is good and confident.

Dictation -- We did the first 4 bars of Hot Cross Buns and he got it correct the first time (we are doing rhythm only).

09/27/2012 Lesson

We started a new piece today -- I let him work on it without assistance and he did quite well. The piece is Jack & Jill from the Nursury 1 book. This piece doesn't work well hands separately, so we started right off hands together.

He played it 4 or 5 times to get to this score. I will give some fingering suggestions at the next lesson.

How would you subscribe his fine motor skills and piano technique development?

By reading the numbers I see more confidence in 2 hand coordination!

We started the Hannon HT today and it went very slowly, but he is trying very hard to do it correctly.

Chromatic Scale -- HS -- spent about 5 minutes and is getting better.

Solfege -- Do to Do and back is good now so we will start working on Re to Re at the next lesson.

We started German Dance today as a recital piece -- we will continue to work on Jack and Jill as well, but the German Dance was our piece for today.
