process of learning music is very complex process, and therefore you can not demand and expect from the child performance of musical disciplines, as required by the academic school. There is everything built on stress and on the suppression of the child.Of course the adult personality will dominate in this process.Suppressing the will of the child, we deprive it of creative participation and hence the result would not be interested to the child, it will just delete his personality and will be pure merit of the tutor. From this moment begins the race for the result, and the child becomes a guinea pig. Survive or will not survive.About creativity it's no longer stands, most important is the will of the instructor. But the world of perception of the child is so versatile that he can do much more if he begin to feel on a par with the teacher, give him the initiative and you will find many interesting of its child, he will shows you their arsenals and teach you how to deal with him the effective way.Let him to participate in the process on an equal footing, you teach him to listen to your interests - it is because he wants it so much.

Thank you for this great post! My son is almost 6 now. I am a musician, so music was always around him, and we started "playing around the piano" when he was 2 years old.
Your post above is brilliant! And I want to know more. Give me advices, because I am always afraid of not doing mistakes with my son.

How do you manage to let him the free will, but still to keep your control?
Thanks,
Flo
