Hellene, Thank you for the compliment! I enjoy a good challenge, but I'm not sure I'm up for too much quite yet. I've switched to only playing in solfeggio and feel as if I've regressed since doing so. The reason i switched is in part because of some things I read in your book but also because I know myself enough to know I have a good memory and am very capable of "cramming".. as you put it. I want to really learn the notes and move beyond only being able to read music. After 8 years of saxophone in my youth that's all I could do. I was very good at it, but could not improvise, only read and play what was written.

Anyways, my challenge at the moment feels like trying to "unlearn" the alphabet note system that I am familiar with and learn the solfeggio system instead. It feels like a war in my head when I play the different learning modules and, even though my scores have gone down, what is worse is that I am having real difficulty figuring out where the solfeggio notes belong on the grand staff and recognizing them feels like nothing more than a guess. I intend to stick it out... just wanted to let you know where I'm at.

My wife and I are both enjoying your book and learning a lot! The kids (all except the one year old) are progressing too. I haven't posted for them yet, I know. We are writing their scores in our notebook. I need to show Lauren how to post on here for her and then we can both manage the kids' postings.

I'm aiming for posting at least once per week and will try to include videos as often as possible. Thanks!

P.S. - We watched "The Sound of Music" as a family the other night.. the kids had never seen it but enjoyed it and the connection to what they are doing with SoftMozart. Fun stuff!
