Mrs.Post replied to the topic Re: Lee - an adult beginner in the forum.OK OK,
We'll see. Not making any promises. I want to purchase a hammer dolcimer next year. Perhaps it will help me learn the dolcimer quicker.
Lee, yes I would like the files. I will let you know which ones I have. I got a new computer and will have to hunt down my old files from storage. Give me the weekend. I would love not to have to redo the work.....

Mrs.Post replied to the topic Re: Lee - an adult beginner in the forum.Lee,
You know I haven't been playing piano because I am older....I thought I'd just teach the kids. I loved reading about your progress. I laughed when I read that some of these pieces took you ages to learn....ha! Five months ago you couldn't play at all. It has given me some motivation.....way to go.
Btw- we'll start work soon on the rest of the power points.....Thanks for the audio clips from long long ago.

Mrs.Post created a new topic Toddler help in the forum.Couple of questions for Manda or Hellene or whomever,
We have lost our oldest little boy. Now I am down to my little one and our little girl who has Downs. She is still playing right hand only. We are not making a transition to two hands but she is getting quite good at right hand playing and recognizing the notes as they appear. We aren't playing any games as she doesn't seem to understand what the point is. I've placed both hands on the keyboard, but it is mostly me doing the work.
Philip, my little one is now 21 months. He is not motivated by bribes yet. He really just wants to band on the keyboard. He will sing notes he is smacking - sometimes. He will sometimes play a game where I ask him to find me a "Re" and he will find it. Usually he wants to turn to the beat on and bounce. Should we just keep doing this...he loves to get the "pee no" out and play it? Any suggestions about what to do with him?

Thank you for the tip about singing notes in Guess Key.
Handn't thought of that.

Mrs.Post replied to the topic Re: Hello from New York in the forum.Welcome Christine. Even if I'm a little late
. We are on the Soft Mozart Journey as well and EL also. I have a daycare. I used to have 2 kids now just one in addition to my own 21 month old little boy.
We are glad to see you here and if I can be of help i will try. Ouer progress is a bit slow. My little day care girl has Down Syndrome and she is 3. My little one can play Hot Cross Buns but has decided that he wants to just bang the keyboard. He won't read for me anymore either. Stinker. We haven't made as much progress as some of the others but we do love the program.

Mrs.Post replied to the topic Re: We've just started. in the forum.Hello Andrea ,
Yes, we are doing great. I have recovered from exhaustion. Sleep is a beautiful thing. I am following along and catching up on old stuff on both BK and LR reader forums. We are currently putting in garden beds and finishing planting the summer vegetable gardens and nearly finished with my husbands book project. I am keeping up with the kids on the piano. However, I lost the oldest daycare child as his mom switched shifts.
My little guy is doing well, though we are waiting for the screw he swallowed to appear. I probably don't need to explain where I am hoping it will appear. He has quit reading for me. He still wants to use LR but refuses to perform like a little monkey. That is sad as I was about ready to rent him out.
I am still following and posting sometimes. But finishing up the last of the spring duties and feeling a whole lot better. Oh, and I also replaced my love of caffeinated beverages (in the form of Diet Coke or Energy Drinks) with kefir water, Kombucha tea, fermented lemonade and real ginger beer - my new favorite healthy addictions! They taste great and have the added benefit of exploding when opened. Children love it and it makes you border on cool - to a 2 year old of course, but that is not important.
Anyway, thanks for asking. And how are you?
